I headed out of Gila Bend today and drove about 2 1/2 hours to the Desert Diamond Casio located on the south side of Tuscon. I plan on staying here a few days to visit some of the sights in the area. This casino is located on Nogales Highway just off of I-10.

Why a casino parking lot you may ask? Most casinos will allow RVs to park and stay overnight at little to no cost. That makes it a cheap place to stay that normally has a few facilities around plus is clean and safe.Of course there are no hook ups, just a nice flat paved parking lot that is well lit with security patrols. Currently there are about a dozen rigs parked here plus a couple of semis. While it is a ways out of Tuscon, there is a WalMart only a few miles away in case you need to stock up on supplies.

The Desert Diamond Casino is big with 1000 slot machines, table games, bingo and poker. There is also a couple of bars and restaurants. There is also a hotel and conference center. It is one of the nicer casinos that I have been in during my trip to Arizona.

Tomorrow I plan on visiting the Titan Missile Museum. It's only a short drive away and should be an interesting trip.
